I’ve been doing some measured shopping online. I say ‘measured’ because recently I was made to feel guilty by a number of parties on the amount of money I blow up every month. So this month, I’ve been a bit more disciplined. Also, I recently mourned throwing away a Body Shop eye cream because it had expired and I had forgotten it existed and had used it only once so I want to make sure I actually use the things I buy.
I’ve been meaning to do this post for quite a while but I kept postponing it because I knew it would take forever to do. Well now it’s finally here! I am a huge fragrance person; I can’t step out of the house without a spritz of perfume. I mostly lean towards slightly sweet, floral fragrances as you’ll see, but I occasionally like to switch it up. Let’s get right into the post then. (warning: this one is picture heavy!)
Let me just get the minis out of the way and then we can dive into the big ones!
1. Zara Woman Freesia & Vanilla EDT
My flatmate bought this fragrance and every time she wore it I seemed to fall in love with it a little more! This is a floral fragrance and it’s slightly sweet. I personally like sweet scents and this reminded me a bit of Zara’s Black Peony so I picked up a mini version so I can make up my mind about it. So far, no regrets! Plus Zara perfumes are quite reasonably priced so I may just pick up the regular sized version of this sometime in the future.
2. Ricci Ricci by Nina Ricci EDP
My mom picked up some mini perfumes while she was in Hong Kong recently, and she actually picked up Ricci Ricci for herself, and My Burberry for me (which I’ll talk about in a bit). I was sniffing all the perfumes she had bought, and when I opened this one, I accidentally got some on my hand. And for the next half an hour, I couldn’t stop sniffing it. It’s a really sexy scent, for me there’s no other way of describing it. It’s definitely quite mature and heavy as well, so this is one perfume I’d say you can’t really get away with during the day. But it’ll be perfect for a night out!
I always get contemplative on what I’ve achieved when the year has progressed far enough for the ‘months to remember’ to begin. You know those Pinterest quotes – ‘Make it a September/October/November/December to Remember’. Wait, does anyone say ‘Make it an October to Remember’? Anyway, you get my drift.
Obviously, one year is long enough to have numerous small personal achievements here and there. Traveling alone. Not losing your temper in an argument even when you know you’re right. Waking up early every day for a whole week when you’re a night owl. A technology detox. Usually for me, there is one achievement, however, that stands out every year and is reassuring in the sense that I can look back at the year and say to myself, ‘yes, that was the year I did this’. So 2014 was the year I moved to a new city for work. 2015 was the year I got into business school. Technically this year’s ‘accomplishment’ is still pending. And that’s when I thought I’d revisit my New Year resolutions for 2016.

When in doubt, wear red. I love me some red nail polish and as you will see, I am quite adept at finding minute differences between shades of red. Those differences are how I justify having four – yes FOUR – reds in my nail polish collection.
Can I just start off this post with a cliché line or two about how I can’t believe it’s already September? I think I’ll have to carry forward my new year resolutions to next year (as usual!) okay now that that’s out of the way, let’s get straight into August Favourites!
I have a love-hate relationship with nail polish, as I mentioned earlier in this post. That relationship is erring on the side of love at the moment, especially since I bought Lavender Buttercream from Nykaa’s Nude nail polish collection. Enjoy the pictures while I struggle to describe this gorgeous shade.
You know those days when you actually wake up with a headache? I mean, the headache is already there. Before you even have a chance to start functioning and get tired of the day or of the people around you (or both!) Sadly, today was one of those days for me but I’ve made myself some nice coffee and I’m determined to not ruin my Sunday!
Before I get into this post I just want to say thank you for all the feedback on my last haul post! In case you were wondering, I’ve decided to return the Forever 21 dress and keep the other three 🙂 Onto today’s post then!
I love watching videos on YouTube and one of the YouTubers I like to watch is Zoe (Zoella). I was watching one of her older videos recently and it was then that I discovered the beauty that is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte lipstick by Kate Moss in the shade 107. Anyone who’s seen this lipstick on her? It’s ridiculous how absolutely lovely it looks. She’s flawless either which way but it’s as though the shade is made for her. So of course, I was all starry-eyed and decided I wanted this lipstick, irrespective of how it’ll look on me. I mean, I have a completely different skin tone etc etc but I just waved all that aside and put it on my wishlist.
This lipstick is apparently a cult classic in the UK. HOW I wish I had known when I was there three years ago when I was there for a holiday trip, because Rimmel is so hard to find in India. It’s only available in Parcos I believe and even if you do manage to get to a Parcos that houses cosmetics (in my hunt for this lipstick I’ve come to find that many Parcos stores just stock fragrances) this lipstick is never in stock! This is what you get for being a century late on the bandwagon.
Hi guys! Hope you’re well. Today’s post is going to be a product rave. I have god awful second day hair and I mentioned this in one of my earlier posts here. My hair is quite greasy at the roots and that combined with the humidity of Mumbai (honestly, is this city ever not humid?!) means that the day after I wash my hair, I may as well just not bother trying to do anything with because it is just so oily and limp.
